Things have been going pretty well @ Umass. Pretty much it is better than working at the WM, and while it can be stressful, for me it is more fulfilling. I work with another RA and live with 22 girls from all walks of life, and when working with the girls, it has been so much fun. I got to do a DIY t-shirt workshop, and i had almost 30 girls! I would have had more, but I ran out of t-shirts. while there are issues, as there are with any job, it has been a good summer for me. the boy and i are doing great. we are starting to think about our vacation that we are going to take when we are done with our jobs. we have 10 days from when he is done whith his job, and when we start school. I sometimes forget about returning to the hamp, and living with katebahn, dallas sheena and such things.
I think that my confidence in myself has gotten better since i left hampshire. not that I am too cool for school, but i know im alright. Looking at grad schools. sofar tlaked to admissions people from Simmons, and Emerson, and got some great advice from a prof. from Umass who is my academic mentor(got her ph.d before she was 30). Have been having lunch with my mom on fridays, it's been good with her as well.
yesterday was good but rough. but had a great time with marie, got a hott vintage bathingsuit that made me look like a "pin-up model" according to owner of shop (glamour puss-in hadley) I don't know baotu that, but it did accentuate my curves, which I have never seen as a good things. but either way it was cool. THen off to victor's party at the new house in Holyoke. that was good fun, and eventually back to the umass. it's good to be away from ware, i miss people, but it's good for me to be away.
I have also been an itunes fiend. I set up an account, and have been buying albums like whoa. got the new ep that rufus wainwright put out, and two ben folds eps. Aaron and I saw them in concert two weeks ago and it was great. the did a cover of the song "careless whispers", and it was so moving, and amazing, and as I am such a groupie for the two, was moved to tears. going to see ben folds reaffirmed my love for the dorky-guy. if i had to pick a guy that I thought was very attractive, it would be him. and the guy that work's at Michael's craft store...but he dated a friend of mine...but either way it was a great time. spent the day in boston, met up with awesomekatebahn, and tore up newberry street...well not really, but i got some good stuff.
ok, this is me writing too much.
now it is time to sit at my sewing machine and make soem skirts of the vintage fabric that I got last week, and enjoy some family guy.
if anyone is looking to do any letter writing, let me know. here is my address @ the UMass:
