I am sitting in the hotel I work in. It is coming close to the fourth anniversary of moving to New Orleans, and almost the 3rd year of dating the wonderful Danielle Bruhl. When I first moved to New Orleans I worked on and off again at Whole Foods market doing odd jobs as a caterer, movie extra, dishwasher, busboy, pizza chef, and even cooking one summer at Zephyr stadium.
I am now working at Rouses grocery store in the CBD of New Orleans as a kitchen supervisor and one day a week at the Hotel Villa Convento as a night desk clerk. Both jobs I love because they have given me the time to perform. I have been performing infrequently for the last few months doing improv, sketch, and musical comedy at my new theater home. Finding roles acting has been difficult but in May I will be acting in an indie film for a few days. Should be fun. I have joined up with The New Movement Theater and have been taking classes in improvisational comedy and every other week am helping organize a open format comedy show.
This May I turn 25, and what better present than to spend a week in Ashville watching my younger brother Christopher marry his lovely fiance Christine Lemon. Immediatly following my trip to the mountains I am due to go on my first tour. I will be jumping in a van doing improv with a group of folks from The New Movement. It will be the first time for me to see the West so it goes without saying I am super excited.
Here's to the next time I remember you livejournal. Love Dan JW from 2012
