Good things!!

Oh, where to start??!!

It’s been a really good week…last week….not so good, but I’ll start with the GOOD.

Having a Friday off or just having one extra day off was a very good thing. I completed all of my workouts this week. Really I was just worried that I wouldn’t get my long swim at BSP due to my kids having two early release days this week and my husband was out of town…actually he was in Japan. Life seems harder when he’s out of the country and not just out of town. I know it’s mental, but I’m just saying…Life is harder for me when my husband is somewhere farther that CA. I’m very fortunate that my husband is very supportive and very helpful. (I might have said something different last week, but this part is just about the good….for now!!)

Another good thing is that my husband got an earlier flight so he’ll be home before the kids get home from school opposed to late Friday night. Actually he got home a lot earlier and we enjoyed a very nice lunch together. That was a very good thing.

I saw a friend of mine yesterday that I hadn’t seen in a while and she gave me a great compliment on how I looked. I’ve been so busy training and feeling very strong so it’s nice to know that someone thinks that I also LOOK strong…added bonus and a very good thing indeed.

I had a great quality work out with
teambaraka,
leahruns, and
crabbyoldjaws. Another good thing was that Leah had to do her long swim after the QW so I had a buddy. She helped me more than she realizes….I was truly struggling with that workout. I had a terrible headache, ears were also hurting, and I just wanted to go home. I hope that it wasn’t too obvious, but I wouldn’t have completed 7 crack laps…is that about 3500 yards?? Thanks Leah!!!

I also had a great training buddy with me for my hill workout on Tuesday and another for my intervals on Thursday. Friends are a very good thing!!!!

One of my good friends is making the trip to Ironman CDA just to support and be a spectator and I have to share something she said that still puts a smile on my face….it’s a very good thing!! She said that some of her non-triathlete friends were sort of giving her a hard time about traveling so far just to watch a triathlon. Here’s what she said to them….”it’s like going to the Superbowl and watching your team play, so it’s like I’m going to watch the super bowl and MY team made it to the Superbowl!” It may not be her exact words, but close enough and I was very touched by that. Thanks B! That was awesome!!

I made my Bike Transport reservation and it made this feel even more real. Wow, I’m getting close to doing this race. Stress free bike transport is also a very good thing!!!

I think this sums up my “work” week so far. I have my first 100+ ride tomorrow and it’s seems like it’s going to be a hot one!!! Mother’s day is Sunday and there won’t be a lot of R&R for me, but maybe a good massage on Monday and this http://oakley.com/women/enduring wouldn’t be bad either:).

I was going to touch on my previous week which was a little emotional. Nothing particular happened, but I was just so moody. I think I even said or cried…”I can’t do this anymore” and at that moment…I could have easily been talked into quitting this IM training if someone would have said “yes, you should just quit and sleep in tomorrow.” The next day was a new day and all has been well since. I’m not sure what was going on or if it’s normal to feel relief at the thought of quitting. I would have never quit without having a “real” reason. I guess all weeks can’t be so great!! This week made up for it.

I’m nervous about my ride tomorrow, but my wonderful coach has given me some great advice and with that….I’m ready to go!!!!!
