The woman sitting across from him just stared. “I... I can’t believe this.”
“I can, actually. You see, it’s this thing that the combination of money, power, and intelligence gets you.” Tony finished off the drink, leaving two ice cubes to melt in the glass. Setting it down, he continued; “And because the United States of America is the best country in the world. I, Tony Stark, now legally have property rights over a living, breathing, mostly human being. It’s something I’ve never done before.”
There was a soft hiss of hydraulics as the girl moved, her arm shifting as he twined her fingers in her lap. He would have to work on that.
