And so my automotive wishes were answered...

It's a 32-year-old Pandora. And it's absolutely mint.

Is anyone still in any doubt? That's what I want, right there. It's even in a proper 1980s colour - seriously, when was the last time you saw a green car with the AB51 XYZ numberplate format? Even the engine's barely touched, though I still think it could do with being upgraded to something more modern, although my experience of tiny Italian engines is that they give all their power all the time.

It's probably the last one left that's practically untouched and never needed any restoration, which is why I'm glad it's (presumably) gone to someone else who's handed over their seven-and-a-bit grand. For that money - and with only 8,700 miles on the clock! - I'd have it as my daily driver. Imagine being stuck in a traffic jam on the A1... and being able to pull over into a layby and make a full English breakfast with steaming hot tea while everyone else sits there, miserable, in their repmobiles. I suspect it wouldn't last as long in my hands as the Intergalactic Battlecruiser has with its almost 70,000 miles...

So in the meantime I'll look at more wacky Japanese campers. And consider buying a few tins of bright green paint...

chod, campers
