As far as excuses went, it was a pretty lame one but it wasn’t completely made up. She did need Cas to sign off on the statements from their sources and the ME’s report would definitely be something he’d want to read. She was really doing him a favor bringing over those necessary and useful items. That she also brought enough take-out breakfast for four was completely irrelevant. She was just trying to be nice since she was showing up so early.

Sitting in her car she stared at the front door, then sighed and jumped out, breakfast in one hand and files in the other. She wanted to see Sam again. She hadn’t timed her hospital visits right to catch him there, so seeking him out at Cas’s place was the next best option. She was just making sure he was adjusting well, getting back on his feet. She was concerned about him. He had looked so damn skinny last time she saw him. She wanted to make sure he was getting better.
She had to shift the files to knock on the door and then waited patiently for someone to answer, still running excuses through her head.
