I just wanted to say that sometimes, I have really strong pangs of missing Simon's Rock. A lot of times, seeing pictures from when I was there or of people I know from there sends me into a whirlwind of nostalgia. Facebook helps with that a lot...I can keep track of the day-to-day with the people who used to be part of my day-to-day while we're all off having lives (or pretending to, or whatever). I am really happy that I'm still surrounded by my Rocker friends in some capacity. Granted, it's not like the "G is not a number" campaign in hill or manhunt or stealing food from the dining hall and rushing off to sem are every day occurrences anymore. We're much more than a 5 minute walk apart now, but that doesn't mean we're growing apart. I told one of the people interviewing me for my new job that I made the best friends ever there and I was telling the total truth. Nobody who wasn't a rocker understands the rock entirely. There's something about spending an extended period of ups and downs there, and dealing with the campus in every possible mood. I always had a problem explaining that unique dynamic to people (especially non-Rockers I was getting involved with) because they didn't understand the simplicity of our campus life or how we can have fun on campus without cars and a ton of alcohol (just a pinch was enough...WE SHOULD BUILD SOMETHING!) Now I have my own rocker and he can stay. Yay. Basically, the point of this whole thing was to remind you all that I love you guys! No matter how far we all are apart geographically, the internet will keep us connected until we can wreak havoc with Costco-sized cases of beer, burgers, and snacks.
