my day (yesterday)

Jan 24, 2007 00:18

I woke up, went to my 7 freaking 25 class, and came back to my dorm. took a nap, which of course I knew was a bad idea, but I was pretty tired. woke up at 10:40, which was when my next class started. promptly began freaking out and left for said class. stand at the bus stop and realized I left my keys in my dorm, but didn't want to miss a bus going back to get them. waiting a good 15 minutes for a bus anyways. got to my class at 11, feeling sick to my stomach, to find a note on the door saying class was cancelled today because the teacher is ill.

"you've got to be kidding me." my RA said it was karma. in a way, I guess it was good that there was no class on the day I would have missed almost half of it....but come on.

so I go back to my dorm, wait for someone to open the doors so I can get in. leave to go to class, making sure to take my keys with me this time.

have a blast in percussion skills, as usual. that class makes me giddy.

leave percussion skills and am free for the afternoon - no more classes. I decide to be a good TBS sister and voluntarily sort through band uniforms, which made me feel good because I was being helpful. then, I went to get lunch. standing in line at much-desired Chick-Fil-A, I realize I do not know where my keys are. "I'm sure I brought them with me...." I have a carabiner which I usually keep on my belt loop. It doesn't fall off or anything, it's just loud because I now have a lot of keys. So I figure I probably took them off during percussion skills and put them in my bag. however, I check my whole bag over and over without any sign of my keys. I check where I was doing uniforms, but they are not there either. I head to the room where I had percussion skills, positive I left them there. It is about 2:05, and the orchestra just started rehearsal. In the one room I needed to get into, naturally. They are rehearsing until 4:00. No one knows who does orchestra setup. No one knows when the orchestra takes a break. (Never.) And no one turned in any lost keys to any of the offices in the music building. *siiiiiigh*

At this point, I became simply miserable. I could not easily get back into my dorm, I could not take certain busses because I did not have my ID (it's with my keys) and most of all, I could not buy food. I was so, so hungry, and I could not buy food.

Then, I receive a phone call from a certain someone, who, after hearing my predicament that is really just heartwrenching, tells me to meet him for lunch. I do believe the sun started shining again at this point.
We went to Chipotle, where lo and behold, I ate a burrito. That's right, I ATE A BURRITO. I didn't totally hate it, either. This is one more victory for the normal world against me.

As it turns out, because he is super sweet, he skipped a class to take me to lunch, so he had to leave too soon for my taste. But it's all good.

I went back to the music building at about 3:55, waited for orchestra to get out, and pounced. I didn't see them on the floor, where I would have left them. The director has not seen them. He directs (no pun intended) me to the "stage manager" who spots my keys on a counter by the doorway in about 30 seconds. I literally gave him a giant hug. I then introduced myself and discovered I recognized him from my theory class. I helped him rack the many stands, which he appreciated. I felt so good.

Later, I decided I really didn't feel like going to the social sorority rush like I had intended, so I lazed about on the internet and was late to my own sorority rush. It was good, though. I didn't bowl too badly, considering I haven't been bowling in a really long time. I got ice cream. Yum. Then I went home and did a whole lot of nothing, because I had no homework. :-)

well, I just got a phone call and I've got to go. lI think that was about it, anyways. ata, homies!
