So, what’s the deal with David Blaine? I presume it’s only an illusion, with more than just water coming out of his tube. But if it’s not, then the world has truly gone insane. What kind of sick individuals would actually want to watch a guy starve himself in a plastic box for 12 years (or whatever it is)?
No, but seriously, it is surely an illusion. How else would the guy be allowed to do it? He needs psychiatric help anyway, but just because he’s famous he gets away with anything. If I decided to starve myself for 44 days I’d be brought to hospital, as would anyone else. It’s ridiculous, and it’s certainly not entertainment. ‘Ooh, I wonder if he’ll faint? That would be great!’
If I wanted to watch someone starve I could just turn on the news and watch coverage of the famine in Zimbabwe.
Oh, that’s right, there is no coverage of the famine in Zimbabwe- but if you tune into Sky you can watch a mentally ill man standing in a box with people throwing eggs at him.
