It has been some time since the Mansion has seen hide or hair of Mr. Jonathan Strange. It's hard to believe that a man could possibly remain so long (three months, indeed, is quite a long time!) in a library, but if any man might possibly be capable of such a feat, it would be Strange

T: Not really meant to be an anti-OTP... unless you wanted it to be, I suppose!

"Unfortunately," Strange answers just as dryly, turning to look at Childermass, "I don't believe I have."

T: Haha, that one's up to you! I'm game for anything, so!

"That's a shame. Forget what you were trying to accomplish?"

T: Um...I suppose we'll see? But probably not. XD

A slight smile. "Perhaps once or twice."

[abitofboth]

"Well, I'm sure you'll have come up with something clever, if not necessarily useful."

[ironicalsmile]

Another wry smile. "That does define a magician, does it not?"

[abitofboth]

Dryly, "That and a complete lack of ability to function outside his studies, yes."

[ironicalsmile]

A short laugh. "Only a magician's servant could produce so apt a definition." He pauses. "...or a magician's wife."

[abitofboth]

A small unreadable raise of the eyebrows. "I trust Mrs. Strange is well, then?"

[ironicalsmile]

The barest flicker of something in his eyes. "I trust so myself. I believe she is - but I have not seen her recently."

T: ...taking this thread before the one with Arabella, it seems to make the most sense that way.

"Ah. Well. She's quite capable."

T: Makes sense!

[ironicalsmile]

A slight, sardonic smile twists his lips. "She is."

[abitofboth]

"Oh. Not that I expect you've noticed, but the place isn't making food on its own anymore. You might check and see what she's done about food," mildly, with no particular concern.

[ironicalsmile]

A lift of the eyebrow. "No? What happened to it? The magic of the cupboards and the pantries, the magic of closet and shelf - faded? Exhausted? Worn out or turned off?"

[abitofboth]

"It seems to have been actively shut down, but I don't know how or who. It wasn't a fading, though."

Strange frowns thoughtfully. "Curious. I shall have to look into it."
