starstruck

I was walking in a daze to get a big coconut iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts and I think I may have walked past Stephen King. Now granted, he was walking down a downtown Boston street wearing jeans and a beat up black t-shirt with no one paying any attention to him, so I should assume it was just a lookalike. But he looked EXACTLY like every picture of Stephen King, and that man has a distinctive face. I'll bet that Stephen King wears beat up black t-shirts on his off time. The nose. The grey hair since the van accident. The way it hung into his face. That odd twist to the mouth. I stared and he noticed.

Totally want to reread the Talisman again. And get the next Dark Tower book, even though the last one was awful. I heard that the Dark Tower books are supposed to be the last things that he writes, but if he ends up writing something set in Boston, I will be completely validated.

When I was 12, I stayed up late in my bed reading books by flashlight and smearing the words with my sweaty fingers, and Stephen King authored more of those late night reads than anyone else.
