[There is a huge knight with a chainsaw sword sheathed at his waist walking the street, looking grim. ANd dark.]

You are brave to challenge me with that puny thing, but you'll find I am no threat to you, Mamzel.

[He steps out of her way.]

I am a protector of humanity, and as such, see no reason to challenge a newly-awakened resident of this town. My condolences on your appearance here.

"I am the captain of the knights of Zexen and need return to the Brass Castle. Tell me where I am and how that I can return."

[She still keeps her broom pointed at him, not wavering from her stance, but not in an overly aggressive stance, more defensive]

[Garviel removes his helm. Beautiful silver-haired woman meet beautiful silver haired man.]

I am Garviel Loken, Captain of the 10th Company of Luna Wolves, 16th Legiones Astartes, of the Great Crusade. And... I am afraid you cannot return, not yet. We are both captives here of a sort, though we are trying to find a way to return home.

You are in a town called Mayfield, and... here, this is the best explanation.

[He fishes out a pamphlet and hands it over to her.]

"I am Chris Lightfellow, captain of the knights of Zexen. Being stuck here is unacceptable, I need return to my men, what if there were an attack to come from the Grassland or Harmonia?!"

[She peers at the pamphlet, but looks a bit too weirded out to be in a reading mood]

A pleasure to meet you, Chris. Or it would be under different circumstances. Your loyalty to your men is admirable.

[He shakes his head.] However... I can reassure you about one thing. If you do go home for any period of time, you will find that no time has passed. People seem to return home for a while, and then return none the worse for wear.

That I can help you with. His name is... Hiccup. I already have your measurements, just tell me what you need and I shall have it brought to you.

[Wait how did he get her measurements?]

"I had a broadsword and suit of field plate armor... How did you..."

[Anti pervert glare... And you're not Nash, that's impressive]

[Garviel taps the side of his helm]

I can see more than just what light is visible to mortals with this, and my occulobe enhancements. I can see heat as well, and the targeting cogitator in my helm does the rest. But you shall have your broadsword and field plate presently.

[he nods his head.]

You tell me. [There's just a bit of amusement in his eyes. Or bitterness, or both.]

What defines a man?

"Mortality."
