Mine gifts them to me thirty years later...
Holiday celebrations were at my sister's house in Little Rock this year. My brother-in-law was on call this week and could not leave town. So Donnie convinced everyone to come up there. She bribed my uncles with a tour of the Clinton Library, which was one way to get me to stay away but since I was not forced to participate in that portion of the visit, it was okay. The trip overall was only slightly uneventful. The slight was that Southwest lost my luggage on Sunday. The good news is that they found it about 10 hours later and gave me a $75 voucher in exchange for their foul up. Another reason I love Southwest.
K and I made cookies for Santa. That was fun. At 5 years old, she is a fun age to do things with. But she is still her mother's daughter and such a little drama queen.
Pressies were a bit unusual. Donnie and I got packages from Louise that were highly suspect. Donnie's was labeled "A blast from a Christmas Past" Mine was labeled "A gift from days gone by". Donnie's ended up being her Snoopy telephone that she got for Christmas when she was about 11 years old. Mine... A huge stack of MAD magazines all from the late '70s.
Apparently Dad forced Louise to give up one of the many storerooms she has and she found these relics of the past so instead of just giving them to us, she saved them for christmas.
But now, it's home again. Although late and working from home the rest of the year. Yay.
