I've heard that most people who share my birthday think the fireworks are for them. This story doesn't prove anything more enlightening than the fact that you were an exuberant child.

And I have enough respect for childhood memories not to tease you about your taste in sports teams.

Let her be angry. Be rational, but don't attack her. She's lost a lot, and you don't have to fear losing anything.
