The Rigid Wall

Nov 14, 2004 13:53

The trees will turn
The leaves will fall
The snow will come
And take us all
Winter is nigh
And so is the end
When they die
Our prayers we will send

And as he tries
To climb the rigid wall
To see the beauty
Of our warriors bold and tall
he cannot reach
The great and lofty peak
he does not know
What it is he will see

The Oceans churn
As he stands in the squall
Knowing not
How his life will befall
It is his wont
To be out on the sea
The ocean wide
Is his home eternally

And as he try
To climb the rigid wall
he could not keep
A grasp upon it all
And as he slipped
And fell down to his grave
he prays the storm
Will let him home safe

The great winds blow
Upon great men’s backs
And as they go
They never seem to lack
The bravery
While they roam
Through field and row
To lead them home

But when he tried
To climb the rigid wall
A storm did come
Along with a great squall
He met my end
Before friend and foe
Never to reap
What he had sown
