I think Steve Harris needs to let go of the reigns a bit

Its about 2 am right and I'm doing my college hw, and a thought accured to me that I think Harry needs to let go a bit. I think him putting himself in every aspect of the band has outstayed his welcome.
Yes, while this is what pushed Iron Maiden to its heights and kept together, but I think as of BNW his influence is becoming damaging.
I think he is trying trying to promote waay too much, because is it just me but there's more and more Iron Maiden merchendise coming out all the time, I mean wtf with that. I'm like next Maiden fan own a closet of Maiden shirts and walls filled with posters, but mugs? Eddie's megastore is filled with the most useless junk. Isn't merchendising is what Maiden used to stand against for. I just have a feeling next stop will be MTV (God forbid!).
I think the band is at such stage where everything is well oiled and doesn't need one person to watch over everything. I think he needs to concentrate on other things, like his writing. He became so repetative that it starts to truly maddening. I dunno, is it just me but slow intros and outros are becoming Maiden's trademark and not in a good way. 7 out of 10 songs on AMOLAD have that and he a hand in writing all of them. Yes some of them are very much justified like The Legacy, Brither Than a Thousand Suns and for The Greater Good of God (which is by the way his best writted epic since Merriner), but the others they are there, it seems, only to make the songs long enough so they would can be considered epic. I call that cheating.
So yea, I know its a bit of a rant, but while I enjoy AMOLAD immensly, I do think it needs quite some editing. And Stevie needs to chill out a bit.
