Jarvis doesn't really sleep, when he's not human. He takes some down time for running diagnostics, fixing anything that comes up amiss, that sort of thing - but it's not the same as sleeping. Still, it's adequate rest for the circumstances ( Read more... )

Tony Stark doesn't snore. He would never do something like that.

So, theorectically not snoring, Tony is sleeping. It's an amusing sight, really.

At eight AM, right on time, Tony's alarm goes off, buzzing noisily. Six thwaps of the snooze alarm later.... he's still sleeping.

However, snooze buttons only go so far when your house can intervene.
"Mr. Stark, I wholly recommend that you are awake and dressed by the time Miss Potts gets here."
She'll be upset, if he's late to any of his appointments. And he really doesn't want to risk his personal assistant's wrath, does he?

"mmmmf. Pepper's seen me in worse." Tony does get up, however, stumbling to the shower. Water runs, runs, and finally a slightly-less-bleary Tony comes out, towelling himself off. "How bad's the suit, Jarvis?"

"It's certainly seen worse, sir. However, it will require a few repairs before you can take it out again."
That may have gone without saying, but Tony did ask.

"Alright. I'll work on it later." Tony sighs, going to his closet and getting out some clothes. "You don't happen to know what the hell I'm doing today, do you?"

"I do, Mr. Stark." Pepper walks into the room, dressed perfectly as usual. "You have appointments at ten, one, and four, not to mention various paperwork that must be done."

"Hence advising you find your way to functionality, sir."
Pepper can handle it if Tony's a little groggy. Very Important People? Not necessarily.

"Coffee, Pepper, stat." Tony sighs, shaking his head. "Why do I have so much that I need to do?"

He finally finds a shirt, tie, pair of pants and a jacket in his closet, and stands in the middle of the room, dressing himself.

Before Tony even asked, Pepper was in the kitchen with the coffee pot.

Before he was dressed, she was back with a cup of strong coffee. "I would advise, sir, that you wear a different tie. That one does not go with that shirt."

"I would call your busy schedule an occupational hazard, sir."

"Oh, shush, Jarvis" Tony sighs and takes off his tie, throwing it on the bed and pulling another out of the closet. "Does this one pass muster, Miss Potts?"

"Yes, Mr. Stark. I believe that the color of that one will not scare the Board." Pepper cracks a bit of a smile, then pulls out a folder, scanning the contents.

"Your first meeting, sir, is with the Board about the new weapons contracts. Later, you have an interview for the HR position with a Mister..." She rummages "Kess. The last meeting is with the Chief Engineer. I think he has a few ideas."

"I simply wanted to provide some insight to your question, sir."
Because really, what's the fun of witty repartee when you don't use it?

"I know, Jarvis." He adjusts his tie and runs a hand through his hair. "Are you going to be here or at the office today, Pepper?"

"There are quite a few phone calls that I need to make, sir. Until you give me an office that actually has cellphone signal, I believe I need to stay here." Pepper shrugs. Honestly? She just wants to talk to Jarvis.

Well. That's... slightly unexpected, but Jarvis certainly won't argue.
Nor will he comment, in favor of Tony actually getting out the door and not holding himself up by boggling over the situation.
