Upon Waking

Sep 21, 2009 11:55

How long it had been that he had been asleep was an unknown. Christopher Pike woke all at once but did not jerk or jar awake, simply became conscious and let his body remain relaxed and limp. He took in his non-visual surroundings first. He heard no other movement except the slow breathing of the body beneath his. He was sweating, but considering ( Read more... )

Spock opened his eyes to look at his mate. He would sense any injury but a visual scan was reassuring as Christopher stretched.

"It began shortly after you initiated penetration; the completion of intercourse seemed rather more urgent at the time. It has not ceased since it began."

It bothered him that he had not heard it in all that time. It did not surprise him but displeased him that Spock could pinpoint the exact moment it began. Meant that perhaps he had not done his job thoroughly enough.

Pike shook his head lightly, "How annoying." He murmured, standing up and giving a full body stretch now that he could. He could see marks faded into bruises on his own body, and saw matching ones on Spock. The turned some of the displeasure to a certain amount of ego-related pleasure.

He walked over to the console and hit play, listening to the message.

"Captain. We are leaving the trans-dimensional bridge for the time being."His fingers tightened on each other. How dare they! They had to have already broken away from the bridge, leaving himself and Spock trapped here, though together. His eyes narrowed as he stared at the console, unseeing, putting a control on the rage that sprang up hot in the back of his mind ( ... )

Spock heard the message from his seat on the bed, felt the quickly controlled rage that rose in Christopher. He stood, aware in the background of his mind that he really rather did need a shower, and walked to the console.

"What will you respond?"

"Can't." Pike rumbled low, "A one-way message." His eyes burned as he looked up to Spock. "Shower, then we'll see if we can deal with this."

Pike let out a slow breath and looked to Spock once the door had closed. "Well, certainly interesting." He murmured, gesturing for his share of the clean clothing.

He was also waiting for Spock's diagnosis of the situation and their visitor.

Spock parceled out the clothing and began to dress but it was obvious his attention was elsewhere. His mind whirled, clicking through scenarios and situations at a stunning pace, trying to find one in which he could conceivably be Jim Kirk's mate.

"Spock." Pike walked over to his mate, putting aside the clothing as he watched the brief, tiny changes over the Vulcan's expression. Small movements of the eyebrows, the most minute creases around the eyes, things that spoke to him after eleven years of knowing Spock.

"Your diagnosis." It was a light command, but something to give Spock something specific to focus on instead of 'what if'.

"You do not smell of me."

He jerked the black undershirt on over his head.

"He is very free with certain terms; he knows their meaning - his bondmate chose him freely and he chose in return. He is courteous not out of fear but because it is his way. He came to us alone because he thought you should have an explanation - he is not in command of this ship right now."

The clothes suited him. All black that should have been severe but simply looked natural with his paleness and dark hair.
