The beauty and glory of the latest addition to my caffeine shrine is somewhat muted by the fact that I can only admire it via candle light, nor can I "take 'er for a spin" since the power has been out all day. Other than that it is kind of nice doing everything by candle light, and getting to basically do whatever I want at work just to keep busy ( Read more... )

I was wondering!

And I was just talking about you. I asked Pat if he thought your power was out, because I wanted to tell you Happy Birthday!

Your sheath is almost done. I know, I've said that a few times before... but this time I'm actually happy with it. Some of my tools are substandard and they will be replaced on Friday. I'll be finishing your sheath this week-end. It's version 5.0 and this time I think the knife both goes in *and* comes back out again : )

I'll send you a picture to see what you think of it.

And now for your birthday gift: Send me the specs for the nail bag you want and I'll make it for you. I can't imagine how it could possibly be more complicated than this knife sheath, so it shouldn't take long at all.

Hopefully you can use your new espresso machine tomorrow!

I could send you my canvas "prototype" that is falling apart ,it was $10 from harbor freight so I can't complain I guess. I actualy need something a little larger than the one I have too and durable enough to pack up to #20 of tools, but I don't care what it looks like (as long as it isn't pink or something)

I duno, my first nail bag design looks to be prety much a failure, it isn't as easy as it looks.

You'll get the previous comment that I just deleted in your e-mail but I didn't enter the right info to put an LJ link to Skwirll... oops!

Anyway, I wanted to say that your first nail bag couldn't be a failure-- it was your FIRST one! It's a learning process. Your next one will be better than the first, your third one will be better than the second... etc... Trial and error is a great way to learn what will and will not work, and how to improve the design to work better.

I probably don't need the canvas bag itself, just good pictures of it and the measurements you'd want the new one to be. The leather bag will be heavier than the canvas one though, and will probably be best with a wider, thicker belt-- better yet with suspenders.

Tell me exactly the tools you want and if I can I will bang out a few for you and mail everything next week. Speeking of tools, how are the carvers holding up? Still sharp at all?

I am building an arc just to be on the safe side. You got the date right, because it is today! The power went back on just so I could fire up my new machine on my B-day this morning. And my mom got me some very nice sheep skin slippers so this is like the best B-day ever!!

I did have a tree fall down in my back yard night before last, but I think it was up north were they got really windy. It is very flooded and muddy at work, but luckly I am working inside this time around. Thanks :-)
