Employee A...gets to work at 8pm...makes espresso drinks for 2 hours, then goes to office and writes up "suggestions on tea purchasing" returns at 12:45pm...counts down the drawer, and cleans the espresso machine. Leaves at 1:45am

Employee B...gets to work at 10pm. After employee A goes to office...Makes all drinks for the rest of the night, disassembles and details blender, Changes all trash liners, walks all trash to dumpster around the corner, washes all dishes, cleans cold drink surfaces, stocks all paper products, sweeps and mops all floors after flipping all the chairs upside-down, wraps all baked goods, cleans, sweeps, mops, and stocks both bathrooms. Most of this happens after 12:45 since employee B spends most of the evening making all of the drinks for customers.

A variation of this happens 4 nights a week...the sad part is Employee A is a manager and probably makes much more than Employee B. What's also sad is that Employee B is me.

I come in at 10, after having class all day, then a night class test, then a concert...then I work my ass off for 3.75 hours at about $6.00/hour, because I want to get out of there at a decent hour, because I have to go to branson at 6:30am for a mini-camp with the branson colorguard... for which I am volunteering my time...for free as far as I am aware...While a man who is a year younger than me, and has far less experience, is getting paid more to fuck around all night and rely on ME to get us out of there on time.

I am perhaps a little more annoyed than I thought I was.

The concert was pretty good. I hope to never play a concert that demanding again. Huck turned to me after the concert and said, "I would never have been able to play 1st horn on both of these concerts and still end like you did..." FUCK. I felt like I was going to die. Plus after playing such high parts all night, I know I was chipping note left and right towards the end, right in Huck's ear, no less. Not to mention if I was in his position, I would thinking "I deserve to be principal, not this kid." But he congratulated me and validated the work I put in. Thank you, Huck.

I am in a better mood now than when I started this post...

night

Ryan.
