Tramadol Hydrochloride

Jul 15, 2011 00:42

I lay down at 2315 H to attempt to sleep.

By 2345, the sharp ache in my molar had joined the persistently painful throb, and by 1215, I was up. I knew it was just that one molar, but it felt as if my whole jaw was agitating for separation from the rest of me.

Having already taken my painkillers, it made no sense that the pain was worse than the previous night. I really hoped that my molar was not cracking further.

Being inquisitive and curious and IN TREMENDOUS PAIN, I googled 'Tramadol Hydrochloride' to find out what I was partaking of. This is what I found.

"... is a centrally acting opoid anagelsic, used in treating moderate to severe pain..."

"...in May 2009, the United States Food and Drug Administration issued a Warning Letter to Johnson & Johnson, alleging that a promotional website commissioned by the manufacturer had "overstated the efficacy" of the drug, and "minimized the serious risks..."

"...warnings include more compelling language regarding the addictive potential of tramadol, the possibility of difficulty breathing while on the medication..."

"...withdrawal symptoms including uncontrollable nervous tremors, muscle contracture, and 'thrashing' in bed..."

"...growing evidence that Tramadol use may have serious risks in some individuals..."

"... is associated with the development of physical dependence and a severe withdrawal syndrome..."

"...may induce psychological and physical dependence of the morphine-type..."

In short, I am consuming a drug sold through false advertising that is extremely addictive and causes severe withdrawal symptoms.

Yay!

On the bright side, it is hurting a lot less when I sit up.

I may have to sleep sitting up tonight. Which isn't that bad.

AN: I just wanted to add that I trust God to be in total control, though when the pain grips me I feel like shouting and breathe really loudly and deeply, that is a physiological reaction, it cannot be helped, but nevertheless, I'm still praying for healing and I would really appreciate your prayers!! God is always good, even when situations suck.

Now that's something to be thankful for. :)

god, zzz
