A Trip To Town

Oct 31, 2010 20:04

Today was a good day, one that was full of laughter.

I finally hit the town after weeks of deprivation(for the multitudes who head there in the hope of catching a glimpse of me) with Leroy, and we were determined to buy some cool threads instead of spending our money on food like we usually did.

Being the weak link, i soon caved in to the temptation of Starbucks and Marks & Spencer and begged him to relent and enjoy the wonders of carbohydrates with me. But Leroy was resolute and firm and did not give way, like a mighty mountain.

THEN, as we walked towards Ion from Wheelock, THIS AMAZING SMELL WAFTED PAST US AND DREW US IN. I seized a Bacon and Mushroom Pizza off the shelf while Leroy caved in and went for the Cheese Chicken Bun. Once we had made payment and were savoring the goodness of artificially flavored flour, my trained eyes caught sight of a delightful slice of Hawaiian Pizza lying seductively on a nearby shelf.

With the finesse and charm of Giacomo Girolamo Casanova de Seingalt himself, i spun a tale of longing and lust, of deprivation and desire and of a deep, determined hope that i would one day be sated and satisfied to the nearby waitress. Swept along by the moving undercurrents of emotion, she dashed to the shelf and seized a delectable slice off with a graceful flick of her wrist, before following through in a manner that would have put Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to shame had they been there to witness the momentous pizza toss that sent the heavenly construction of dough, ham and pineapple into the nearby oven.

Several swift slashes with a serrated scullery sabre saw to the systematic separation of the sapid sustenance whcih i speedily surrendered to my starving stomach.

It was really good. It was so good that upon giving Leroy a bite, he bought another slice for himself. Not wanting to lose out, i had another slice too. After eating our slices of pizza, i accidentally ventured into the Ladies at Borders and was surprised by an assortment of females washing their hands at the basin. They looked as surprised to see me as i was to see them.

It was a day to remember.
