PART 1 - CREATING AN OC! (50-100 points)
For those of you who are unsure what an OC is, I'll be happy to explain. OC stands for ORIGINAL CHARACTER. You create a character that you could play in RPGs if you wanted, or write stories for.. In this instance, your OC would be a student at Hogwarts, any year you like... but remember that it will be put into situations that a student may experience at Hogwarts. You'll need to give this OC a biography, a description, gender (naturally), age, personality and whatnot. A personal history, perhaps a family background and blood line as well. You can create as many OCs as you like and even make them interact with one another in other parts of this competition.
Name: Lorena
Age: 11
Hair: Black
Eyes: brown
Wand: Oak 12"
House: Gryffindor
Year: First
Nicknames: Lor, Rena (pronounced Rin-a) Irmacita (a variation of her great-grandmother's name, she's called this by family members who have noticed how much those two are alike...)
Position on Quidditch Team: None yet
What is your character's name? What is your character's age, and physical description. Lorena. 11 years old. She's already tall for her age (standing at about 4'7") but she suspects that this will be rounded out soon, as her friends begin to hit their growth spurts as well... She naturally has pitch black hair (despite the fact that everyone seems to think she dyed it that way) and has a slight athletic build, due to playing sports with her dad and brothers.
Write everything else you know about your character, right now. Lorena was born right outside Fayetteville, N.C. to British parents who had been in the United States on Business. Living in the middle of two cultures, she has developed an overactive imagination (check out Bob, the invisible boyfriend) and is naturally awkward as it is (even as a muggle)so she struggles with the idea of being a witch. Her parents are magic folk, but seeing as how they live in a muggle community they are constantly trying to keep it under wraps as far as Egiap's magic goes. She has two older brothers, but they are 15 (Tristan) and 17 ( Wasim) and are in their later years at school. Both of their parents are magical in and of themselves, but they have at least one grandparent on each side of the family that is a muggle (their maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather I believe, but I will double check on this.)
Place of birth. Fayetteville, N.C.
Hobbies Reading, clarinet, watching movies, playing softball & quiddich
Past job. pet sitting
Present jobs. pet sitting, letter writing, babysitting
Past love interest Her imaginary friend, Bob
Enemy. Sally Mae, the school bully in elementary school
Pet. Owl named Marisol
Why is your character not working at the old job? She began attending Hogwarts
Why is your character not with the old love interest? Bob ran away and joined the circus (well, she grew up, but her imagination is still running wild!)
Why does your character not make the hobby a profession? She's only 11 after all.
How did your character make the enemy? Sally Mae was the school bully so it didn't take much work for to find your way to her bad side, yet seeing as how our friend was a fairly new witch, it didnt take much for Sally Mae to think she was wierd.
How did the pet once save the character's life? Marisol didn't really save her life, but she rescued her by flying home one day to get her parents to save her from Sally Mae. Maybe one day she'll be able to defend herself against bullies...
What is the one thing in the world your character would do anything to avoid? Why? What has she already done to avoid this? What do you see her doing in the future to avoid it? Being too much of a girl, despite the small "girly" things that shine, through on occasion. She hates the feeling of being helpless against the bullies and had found herself doing everything possible to defend herself against them.
What is the one thing in the world your character would do anything in the world to have? Why? What has she already done to try to obtain it? What does she hope to try in the future? She would do anything to play quiddich. Yet outside of that she would love to be an auror or working in something fun, like a joke shop or the sort. She works hard and studies constantly, but has a healthy balance between her studies & her play (she hasn't had much opprotunity to practice her quiddich as of yet, but living in her own little world, she has time to create her imaginary friends to practice with her...)
