Thanksgiving or something like it.....

The long holiday weekend came and went too quickly. I didn't do much of anything, which was the point I suppose. Relaxation...what a concept!

As for the events of the weekend, Paul and I ventured to my Mom's house on Thursday to partake in Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to just sit around and enjoy the company of my Mom, two sisters, brother-in-law, and of course, Paul. On Thursday night I decided to stay in Sagnasty for a change while Paul headed back to Mt. Pleasant. Friday afternoon I battled the crowds at the mall with my two sisters. That evening I went out to Retro Rocks (one of the best bars in Saginaw) with my sister Molly and her friend Kate. As I'm standing at the door of the bar waiting to be carded, my eyes scanned the crowd inside and locked with none other than my ex-boyfriend Ben. (We dated for 3 years and I haven't seen him since last January.) When I got inside, we chatted for a while and caught up on how we were both doing - you know, small talk. Ben and I are still on good terms with each other, but was kind of weird to see him. He was the first man I ever loved. Even though I love Paul to death and he is definitely "the one," nothing will ever change the fact that Ben and I share a past. I have no regrets about it.

I ended up having 5 gin and tonics (that's right...F-I-V-E) at the bar on Friday, so needless to say, I spent a good portion of Saturday recooperating. (Gatorade, anyone?) During the early evening hours on Saturday, I decided to head back to Mt. Pleasant. After battling the ice rink formerly known as M-46, I finally made it back to my apartment. The remainder of the weekend was totally uneventful, with the exception of the usual Sunday night APO meeting funness.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of two weeks of craziness. Papers, service projects, APO banquet, meetings, a wedding, final exams, the Necto...yikes!! There's a lot of work to be done, but also many good times to be had in the next 14 days. Here it goes...
