so farewell then "last of the summer wine". still unreasonably disappointed that they couldn't at least let roy clarke write a "final" episode for the thing, rather than just stopping it and also unreasonably annoyed that they seem to think just because the large audience for the thing is mainly old (except for me) it should be binned... but thirty seven years isn't bad. there'll still be time for me to dig out as many episodes as i see fit and after all, part of the attraction during the peak of my love for the show (the lincoln years) was a desire to live up here in yorkshire. and now look where i am?

still, a very sad day. i will always fight to the last moment in the praise of the series and even now, when it's mostly beyond the glory days, it's quite unlike anything else before or since
