Oktoberfest
Grüß dich! Guess what. Mum and I are going to the Oktoberfest on the 16th. Yay! Perhaps my other family members will attend as well, but they didn't sound very interested, as far as I could tell. Anyway, the Oktoberfest is a bit like the German "Mardi Gras" because it's a period of time were everyone parties and drinks beer and sings and et cetera. So it's a German holiday. Pagosa Springs only celebrates it on the one day, however. But my way cool mum made German food for dinner this evening, which was a nice treat. At the Oktoberfest, we'll get to have German food, sing songs in German...Ach, du lieber Augustin, Augustin, Augustin...do the chicken dance, listen to music, and we get complimentary beer mugs (because Germany brews loads of beer).
Cool, eh? I think it will be fun.
Anyway, to my incredible luck, my World History group and I are doing our report on Switzerland! Yay! Switzerland is so cool. Germany and Switzerland...both the places of my family's origin. It's really late, so I'm off. Tschüs!
