If someone had asked Hermione Granger Malfoy if she even considered marrying Draco Lucius Malfoy two years before, she would have stuck them in a loony-bin and told them that there was no chance whatsoever.

But now, she snuggled closer to the man by her side. He was the man who held her hand, as he was as that moment, and the man who had brought her out of her carefully constructed shell after Harry had died.

"Malfoy," she said.

"Right here?"

"Mmmhmm," she replied. And so they set to work. pulling piles of leaves into their arms, they dumped them at the selected spot and they didn't stop until the pile was almost as tall as Hermione was.

With a grin, she looked over at Malfoy. Even after a year of marriage, she hadn't grown accustom to calling him Draco and rarely did. "Ready?" she asked.

And together, they shouted, "Three... Two... One... NOW!" And they jumped. Hermione laughed as she felt the leaves crunch and fly around her. When she turned on her back, she watched a large bird fly overhead. She sighed and closed her eyes.

When she opened them, her lips were covered, and she was staring into an angel's face. She lifted her hand to carass his cheek and closed her eyes. The lips left her and Malfoy stared down at her.

"I love you," he whispered.

She stared at him with shock. He loved her. He actually loved her. Dispite everything, her blood, her heritage. He loved her. She felt the tears begin to form. "I love you too," she whispered.

"I know."

She nodded and snuggled closer to him. She must have fallen asleep, because the next thing she knew, her leg was thrown over his hips and her unruly brown hair was covered in leaves, but his arm was under her neck, and her arm was thrown across his chest. He was sleeping.

He looked vunerable. And sweet. Like a child. He didn't sleep with his mouth open, his eyes were closed lightly and his lashes brushed against his cheekbones. She's never seen him sleep before. He'd always gotten up before her.

"Malfoy," she whispered.

"What, Granger?" he murmured sleepily.

"Come on. We gotta get home."

"Lucy can wait," he replied.

"Come on, Draco."

He finally sighed and got up, then pulled up her.

He smiled down on her. She was glad that they had gone to jump into the leaves, because that was where he'd said he loved her for the first time.
