Where’d you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it’s been forever
That you’ve been gone…

She sits by the window and closes her eyes wondering where he could be. The children tucked into the bed, and her sick with worry. She jumps when the clock booms twelve and pulls the crocheted shawl tighter around her and lays her head back against the window. She brushes her straight black hair out of her face and wipes a tear that runs down her cheek. Her little three year old daughter comes down the cold marble stairs and she tells her to come sit on her mama’s lap. The little girl scurries to her as thunder booms and lightning flashes and fills the house.

She said, some days I feel like shit,
Some days I wanna quit and just be normal for a bit.
I don’t understand why you have to always be gone
I get along, but your trips always feel so long.
And, I find myself tryin’ to stay by the phone,
Cuz your voice always helps me and I feel so alone,
And I feel like an idiot, working my day around the call,
But when I pick up I don’t have much to say, so.

It’s three A.M. A whole ‘nother day. Suddenly, she throws the glass plate that she’s holding in an attempt to tell him how angry she is, even though he isn’t there. Then she starts to cry as she picks up the pieces. It was his wedding present to her. He never talks to her about his work, or what he does. She’s left in the dark with nothing. The door opens and closes and he walks in to see her crying over the plate. He asks her what’s the matter and she quickly waves her wand at the broken plate to fix it before she leaves the room.

I want you to know it’s a little fucked up
That I’m stuck here waitin’, at times debatin’,
Tellin’ you that I’ve had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family are here singin’,

He’s gone again. She pulls the ladder up the stairs to their bedroom and pulls down the trap door that leads to the special attic that’s in every room. She crawls up the ladder and breathes in deep the musky smell of the attic. She walks over to the chest carefully and opens it as if it might break. In it, is her wedding gown, faded, a fragile piece of parchment, pictures of the two of them happily waving and grinning from ear to ear. Her breath catches and she puts her hand over her mouth. A tear drips down onto the moving photo and the two people scowl at her. She picks up the parchment that is yellow and is as fragile a butterfly’s wing. Tears keep dripping down her cheeks as she reads the personal vows they made to one another.

Where’d you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it’s been forever
That you’ve been gone…
Where’d you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it’s been forever
That you’ve been gone…
Please come back home

She feels sick and she runs to the closest sink or toilet to puke her breakfast. He’s not there to hold her hair out of her face or rub her back or whisper he’s so happy about this news. She hasn’t seen him in a month. She feels terrible and wonderful and then terrible again. She feels sick, this time because she doesn’t know what to do. She’s against the brutal way that the act is done, but she doesn’t want it to be in this world without a father. She makes up her mind that she will care for this, even if he’s not around to help her.

You know, the place where
You used to live?
Used to barbeque burgers and ribs
Used to have a party every Halloween
With candy by the pile, but now,
You only stop by every once in a while.
Shit, I find myself just fillin’ my time,
Anything to keep the thought of my mind
I’m doin’ fine, and I plan to keep it that way,
And you can call me if you find
That you have something to say

He’s back. He’ll be gone in a day or two, he says, before he’s out the door to visit his family. His family. What about her? What about his daughters? What about the problem and joy and blessing that he helped bestow? Oh wait, he’s coming back, and she runs after him telling him she needs to tell him something and he says he’ll be back later in the evening and she can tell him then. And then she bursts into tears and he asks what’s wrong and she asks can’t he tell that he help conceive a baby? But then, he’s never around so he couldn’t know if his daughter learned how to swim, if she read her first book and he says he promises to be back soon. He doesn’t react to the fact that he’s going to have a baby, or that it might be his first boy. And she clenches her fists and lets the tears stream even as he wipes them off with his thumbs, telling her it will be okay.

And, I’ll tell you,
I want you to know it’s a little fucked up
That I’m stuck here waitin’, at times debatin’,
Tellin’ you that I’ve had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family are here singin’,

She’s getting fat again. She might not lose the weight this time either. He’s gone again. Just like she knew he would and she feels tired. Sometimes she wants to die, but then she thinks about her baby dolls and decides it’s not so bad. They’ve got her and she’s got them. Neither really knows how much they depend on each other. Or maybe they do. But they cling to each other and the girls hardly know their father, so they run and hide when he comes to the door instead of smothering him in hugs and kisses. Her oldest will turn five in a month and she’s already decided that they’ll go to Malfoy Manor for the girl’s birthday if he’s not home then.

Where’d you go?

Her daughter fell out of a tree today. She broke her arm and her mother had to fix it. As she did, she looked out the window and saw a broom flying. She shrieks with joy and scares her daughter, but she can’t help it. He’s home! Her prayers have been answered. And then her face becomes blank when she sees the rider. It’s one of his brothers. She already knows what’s going to happen, so she doesn’t bother answering the door to find out.

I want you to know it’s a little fucked up
That I’m stuck here waitin’, no longer debatin’,
Tired of sittin’ and hatin’ and makin’ these excuses
For why you’re not around and feelin’ so useless
It seems one thing has been true all along,
You don’t really know what you got ‘til it’s gone.
I guess I’ve had it with you and your career.
When you come back I won’t be here and you can sing,

She screams at him. She takes a pair of scissors and cuts off her hair in clumps because she knows he loves it. She cries and yells and tells him to go look in the attic room above their bedroom. She asks when was the last time he sat down with his daughter to attempt to play chess or when was the last time he ate dinner with them. She asks if he still loves her and he looks surprised. She whispers when she says that she’ll always love him, no matter what, but she can’t go through with this pain anymore. It’s too hard. And she walks away but not before handing him the piece of parchment that she’d read five months before. She’s carried it the whole time. And then she watches his face crumple slightly before it reverts back to its blank state.

Where’d you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it’s been forever
Since you’ve been gone
Where’d you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it’s been forever
Since you’ve been gone…
Please come back home

She leaves the next time he does. She doesn’t wait. She packs her bags and her daughters bags even though she has some difficulty because of her big belly. Because of her daughters and her condition, she has to walk. That’s fine too. It’s good for her. They’re in Diagon Alley when a hand claps over her mouth and pulls her away from her daughters.

Please come back home

She watches her daughters get pulled into the alleyway too. And then she sees the knife and tries screams as it slices her clothing, but nothing comes out.

Please come back home

He has a bad feeling so he goes back. She’s gone, so is his daughters and when he walks into their bedroom, he sees a paper with ink scribbled on it. It says that she’s gone, and never coming back. He understands for the first time that she really meant what she said when she said that she couldn’t deal with the pain. He didn’t know what it’s like. Now he does. He almost flies down the stairs to go after her.

Please come back home

She knows she’s going to die, and felt the baby die. And watched her daughters die. And now she knows what it’s like to be treated like the Mudbloods do. The pain is terrible and she can’t cry because all her tears are gone and this is one of those pains that hurt so bad and you want to cry but you can’t because…. And you don’t know why. Suddenly, she knows it’s over. And Pansy Parkinson Weasley dies with only one regret: her daughters are dead too.

Please come back home

He came back because he couldn’t find them. Then Aurors came to his house three days later where he’d been drinking and cursing. They told him his wife and two daughters were dead. They’ve all been raped with a knife and the baby is gone. He crumpled to the floor and whispered that he should have listened, he should have listened. And he didn’t. Two years later, Charlie Weasley died of alcohol poisoning. And the only people who mourned him was his family because he stayed in his mansion because his wife and children was dead because his wife left him because he wouldn’t stay home because he was obsessed with dragons more than his kids because he knew Dragons longer. So, in an essence, it was all his fault.

Author's Note: The little lyrics were stolen shamelessly from Fort Minor and Holly Black. The name is pretty easy to figure out. Where'd You Go. Anyway, I got this idea, in the middle of the night at around ?one? and even though this isn't usually my type of story, with the lyrics cutting through and everything, it would not stop bugging me. And I did the most unusual pairing I could think of. I've never really seen Charlie/Pansy around so I was like, "Hey... what if..." Originally, it would have been Ron, but I decided that I needed someone who had a mansion, and taming dragons is pretty hard work, so you get a lot of money. And I needed the whole cold marble thing. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this, even though it is sad. And if it's not, I did my best, but I like happy endings. Lol

Author Note2: After, like four months.

Anyway, here's where my charlie/pansy addiction started. Don't ask me WHY I came up with this pairing, but I did.

songfic, pg, pansy, charlie/pansy, angst, charlie, sad
