Brett and I met with our builder's representative yesterday and... Drum roll, please... We have picked a lot for our house!!!! YAY!!!
Well, we've found two that we like and we've put a hold on both, and it only cost $500! Lots 4 and 5 of a beautiful 5-lot cul-de-sac. We'll choose the final when we know more about our floor plan and pricing. Oh, so lovely. We will have a drop off behind our house that will overlook three luxury homes below and a beautiful view of the rolling Tennessee countryside beyond that. I'm SO EXCITED!!!! We're having a house built!
The lady (I can't remember her name) said that we will be able to customize a floor plan to our liking, which means we can pick out our own paint colors, select our flooring, and possibly rearrange some of the bits. We are, after all, moving a recording studio into our house and sound-proofing is going the be the easiest part. That will only require a black rubber-like material called Barrier that goes up beind the drywall. That's easy. Having rooms the right size for our physical studio stuff? Maybe not so easy. Actually, there are only a few things that absolutely, positively WON'T work. Most anything else can be done.
We have the MOST awesome real-estate agent in this hemisphere. When we got to the site yesterday, the lady looked at us and said, "You guys have a very good agent. She's very persistent." At the time, we didn't realize that we were the VERY FIRST people to see this lot out of 50 people that are on their list. Woohoo! We love Laurie Marks! She's a powerhouse - all 4 feet 10 inches of her!
