The video wavered, then grew still as Lois pushed pause, the image of her cousin filling the screen once again. She forced a deep breathe to empty from her lungs, eyes steady with inherent determination. Body coiled in preparation for action.
“Chloe, what the hell did you get yourself in to?” She glanced down at the notepad beside her, expression narrowing at the name she had written.
CLARK KENT.
Chloe dead. Well, then….she snatched the piece of paper up, striding out the door….someone had a lot of freaking explaining to do.
“Watch out, Smallville. Lois Lane is coming.”

A billion stalks of corn later, she meets a guy in the middle of a field, small fires littering the landscape around him. He stands naked before her, unharmed, if her, ahem, quick peek down was any indication.
She pushed amnesia boy into her car, red blanket tucked securely around him. “Let’s just get you to a hospital.” His blue eyes caught and held hers just as she was closing the door on him.
“I need to find the sign.”
She tilted her head, studied him for a moment and then shrugged. “Sure.”
Chloe, what kind of place is this?
--------------------
Her eyes cut to the two people walking away, the disbelief on her face echoing in her voice. “Kent? As in Clark Kent?”
The elevator doors were already closing as she turned to chase after the woman and her son, hair flying wildly behind her. “Wait a minute. I have to talk to....” The doors shut as her palm made contact with metal and she lost them, “....you,” she finished.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips and she turned back scanning the hallway with resolve. “Where is he? Where is he?” Ah.
“I need the address for the Kent Farm.”
--------------------
The words buzzed helplessly inside her brain as she tried to grasp what Clark had just said.
Chloe's still alive.
There was just something so certain about how he said those words....A surge of hope shot through her system before she could stop it. But it disappeared as quickly as it had come when her eyes landed on the tombstone baring her cousin's name. She looked back to him, her expression filled with disbelief and worry as she shook her head no. “Look, Clark....”
“She's alive, Lois.” He took off for the exit. “And we're going to find her.”
