Even the sun has come to say good-bye, scaring away the rain that hid everything from view. It peeks out from behind puff balls of clouds, shining thousands of rays down around the remaining survivors, encircling them with a halo of light. (Like it's supposed to mean something.)
The island continues its fall into ruins; shuddering beneath their feet as earth and rock ravage the ocean below; agitating the water as it crawls higher and higher against the cliffs. They surrender like rag dolls, together (alone), jutting rocks piercing fragile flesh where they land. Unforgiving in its haste for sacrifice, it'll always take what it needs.
