I don't know why people bash that album so much.. I personally like it. It's different from their 3-chord progression and whiney brat complaints of love and 'the man.' Which is what I love about Green Day.. but it was a nice break.

I'm just sooo excited for their new album. It's different thing for them; to be so forwardly political. 'Warning' was political, but not as like.. frank as this album is (I mean, come on.. 'American Idiot?' Gee, wonder who).

Plus, Billie Joe and Tre look so damn hot. Mike's hot too. But the others? With the sexy eyeliner and dressed in black bit? Daaaaaang. :D

Nimrod was.. like pop music. I can't stand listening to it. It just sucks.

Personally, my favorite album was definitely Insomniac. Mmm... Insomniac..

Insomniac was good.

My favorite is, and always will be 'Dookie..' their breakout album.. it's amazing and I just love it. Then I like their older stuff, you know, '1,039 Smoothed Out/Slappy Hours' and 'Kerplunk..' I like 'Insomniac' and 'Warning,' 'Nimrod' was pretty good and I can't stand 'Shenanigans..' The songs just didn't mesh well (I mean, they were just all random B-Sides collected through the years)and was just put out to be put out. That and 'International Superhits,' which is good to listen to if you're just starting to get into Green Day, but once again, it was put out to be put out. And I think it's immature; they shouldn't be putting out a Greatest Hits record until they're run is over (which it's obviously not, with a new record coming out as well as a worldwide tour).

And I realize their hottness has nothing to do with how good the album's going to be.. it just motivates me even more to get my ass out to a show, just to witness their gorgeous facades. :D

I forgot about Warning..

From what I've heard of Warning, it was as disappointing, if not more, than Nimrod.

Dookie was okay, but Insomniac was by far the high point..

It just sort of doesn't feel like the same band, anymore, I guess. They were assiimilated into pop culture and are a lot worse off for it, which is what usually happens when that sort of thing happens to music..

At first I didn't like Warning. At all. But then i pretty much fell in love with the songs and the direction the guys were taking their music. If all you think of Green Day is fast punk-like rhythms and 3-chords, than yes, Warning would be a dissappointment. But if you want something different, something Beatles-esque and using real acoustic guitar chords, than you'd enjoy it.

And I agree, they got way too much exposure. Way too much on MTV and on Z100 (pop radio station in my area) and way too many little girls screaming "I LuV Da sOnG tYmE oF Ur LYFE!!!" kind of thing. Like I said before, I love their older stuff. 1,039 Smoothed Out/Slappy Hours is a classic, and it's incredible. Kerplunk was crazy. Dookie is amazing, but it is a little over played ("Longview" again, anyone? ;D). And Insomniac was amazing because it was made out of frustration of the overexposure
