All I can say is Thank you, really. For everything. For speaking the truth that no one wanted to say, and some were too afraid to hear, until you spoke it. And by god did you speak it, with a vigor and attitude I thought most wrestlers had forgotten they had.
But you have reminded us all of that attitude. Then promptly reminded us that most of us are sheep in some form or another, and the rest of us are doofuses (doofi?) and that this company is run by a man who has his head up his ass.
And you spoke the truth, as you always have. And I am just floored. I'm still wrapping my HEAD around it for chrissakes!
You are a man to be honored, to be revered, to be respected. And maybe this is shameless pandering, but it's also one writer's way of saying thank you to someone who has had a profound effect on my life. You have never done what everyone else wanted you to do to get what you wanted. You have always done it your way, and by your standards and rules.
I can only hope Vince isn't so stupid as to get rid of any record of your matches, your wins and losses, your promos, your successes and your failures. Because I would like to hope that one day I can show my kids DVDs (or whatever the fuck it may be) of you and say "This man lived for himself, and no one else. And you should remember that."
