Update about the non-updates

Terribly sorry that the No Happily Ever After updates seemed to abruptly stop. I promise it was not intentional. I planned on finishing the next chapter and posting it on the 18th from the comfort of my hotel room after dropping off the Rosette at University on Sunday the 17th, after having driven there in her new (to her) car. Unfortunately, this is what happened instead on the way down:

Both of us ended up being airlifted to a regional trauma center. Thankfully, we both had only mild to moderate injuries. It could have been so much worse. We both suffered concussions, as well as cuts and scrapes reminiscent of a cheese grater. We both suffered deep soft tissue injuries to our arms, mine being my dominant right arm. I have tendons, ligaments, and muscles that are protesting their abuse, and we both have nerve damage in the injured arm, so typing is a slow and tedious process mostly involving my left hand. I also suffered a broken neck vertebra and broken sternum and dislocated rib. Other than the cuts, etc., arm injury, and concussion, she is otherwise well. Shaken, but well. Thank all the mysteries of the universe, we are alive and healing. I hope to pick up NHEA again as soon as my arm is cooperative, and not actively protesting, and finally finish this story.

For those of you who have stuck with it for the decade that I've been writing this story (my gosh, it doesn't seem that long!) I thank you. You are my inspiration. Thank you so much, and know that we are almost there. Just need to do a bit of healing so I can pick up writing again.

no happily ever after
