Sleep and other things I'm lacking...

On Thursday night, I actually dreamed that I was sleeping. How tired do you have to be to dream that you're sleeping? Alice woke me up at 6:30 this morning. We're up now eating chocolate croissants and watching WALL-E. I thought WALL-E should have been nominated for Best Picture. It was my favorite movie of the year anyway.

Yesterday I received my contributors copies of Women. Period., a book of writing about menstruation edited by four very cool women I know from my MFA program. I was paid five copies of the book and $10 for my poem. It's not much, but it does feel good to get even a token payment for my writing. I'm going to use the ten bucks for a book from the independent book seller downtown, a book by someone living--keeping the money in the family, as it were. You can buy a copy of the anthology directly from the publisher here.

This weekend is also the opening of the Be Mine exhibition at the Alliance Gallery in Narrowsburg, NY. The exhibition features 14 poems and 14 photographs that explore conceptually the ideas of love, romance, etc. My poem "Mosaic," a love poem for Alex and Alice is one of the poems. There's more information here.

We just got to the part in WALL-E when confirming that EVE is actually carrying the plant. It reminds me so much of going to the doctor when I was pregnant!
