Well, yesterday was a BIG day!! :) Maeve turned 2 years old, and we started out with a stop at our neighborhood Starbucks (where the folks there gave her a free slice of her favorite Lemon Loaf), then it was off to The Children's Museum! My friend Claudine came running out of the Infozone, and gave Maeve a big kiss and a new doll! We had a great time at the museum, and Maeve rode a horse on the carosel for the first time (first, she was scared, but by the time the ride was over, she didn't want to get off!). We played at Playscape, saw the robots and Curious George, and of course her favorite, the dinosaurs. She also loves the race car, the trains, and the big polar bear.
We headed home, picking up a cake at Taylors on the way. When we got home, there was a surprise waiting - my friend Pam, who drives a bus for the Deaf School, was there, WITH her busload of kids!! They sang and signed Happy Birthday to Maeve! She was so excited! After lunch, we had presents (she loved her new stuffed Horton, new duplos, books, and her twin Cabbage Patch babies), and a bit later, we had that lucious cake. Maeve got her own piece with a rose, and she promptly ate the rose first (yep, that's my girl!). We took a piece of cake over to Bryan next door, then did our weekly grocery shopping, which Maeve always loves. It was a wonderful day, just the right mix of excitement and routine, and Maeve loved it all. :)
It'll be fun at Sophie's birthday in a couple of weeks - it's at Gymboree, and if Maeve really likes it, we may have to try some of the classes there - Although I'm still going to get her swim lessons at the YMCA as well.
