Wow... I hate to bust out with this, because I think Palin is an evil, bible thumping moron, but...

"when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because "every family has challenges," even as black and Latino families with similar "challenges" are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay."

this isn't a 'white' thing, it is a 'money' thing... if taxes were paying for her child, then rest-assured white, black, yellow, or purple, the Republicans would denounce her.

What does "taxes paying for her child" mean? That's a meaningless phrase that has been thrown around a lot lately. The image of the fictional "welfare mother" that was driven down the throats of the nation by the conservatives in the 90s has a black face, I assure you.

Do you honestly think that that people who see a pregnant white girl standing next to a pregnant black girl won't make different assumptions about the two? Do you honestly think that a large portion of this country wouldn't just assume that taxes were paying for the black girl's child?

Assumption? More like statictical extrapulation. It may not be PC, or 'fair', but it is a fact.

Welfare by race:
--------------
White 38.8%
Black 37.2
Hispanic 17.8
Asian 2.8
Other 3.4

total population by race:
------------------
White 80.2
Black or African American 12.8
Asian 4.3
Hispanic or Latino 14.4

(total population on welfare is about 2,039,917 out of 305,000,000)

Regardless of race getting pregnant at 17 shows a serious lack of judgement, and personally, I would view them accordingly. However, if your extended family can finacially support you, it is less my problem, then theirs.

Oh, Christ. You pulled out statistics to back up privilege and used political correctness as a pejorative. Continuing this is pointless.
