So, here are some things that happened to me today.
1. Wore a short skirt and sleevless top to church this morning. Than discovered upon walking outside that it was about 60 degrees, but didn't have enough time to go back in and change. Also, the air conditioning at church hadn't been turned off due to the deacon that is in charge of it wearing a 3 piece suit to church every Sunday and liking the temperature to be about 12 degrees colder than everyone else prefers.
2. After eating at home, went to Office Depot with my mother and bought ergonomic keyboard and mouse wrist rest in the hopes that this will help me avoid wrist surgery. Bill was more than 100 dollars, but my mother noted that it was less expensive and painful than wrist surgery. Parents are footing the bill for said ergonomic items. Am quite happy about this.
3. Upon returning home, tried to set up ergonomic keyboard and found it was not compatible with Windows Vista. Had to download approximately 456.5 drivers and other various and sundries from Microsoft's website. This meant that I had to scroll through approximately 654.3 user agreements and click "I accept" to be Bill Gate's towel girl. Similar experience with the new mouse although less extreme.
4. Went to library to digitize old Issues video of Ralph Nader. Reflected upon how very ugly Ralph Nader is. Took over 5 hours to digitize video and upon writing this it is still not finished. However, media center lady was nice to enough to let me leave it so I could go to bed and finish it tomorrow.
5. While video was encoding itself, went to look at various grad school applications and print out recommendation forms for professors. Realized that UM had changed its application policy and now my professors have to submit their recommendations online. Decided that this was a problem since I am not entirely sure that Dr. Wheeler knows what the internet is and Mary Ellen only has dialup and both have already written printed recommendations. Examined UM's policy on website carefully and decided they were likely to be unforgiving. Am still contemplating possible options among which is the possibility of moving to Fiji where there are not graduate schools and thus no graduate school recommendations.
6. Upon returning to apartment at 11:30 pm, realized I had forgotten to eat. Decided this might be a small part of reason for my utter disgust with the world at large. Have just consumed beef and bean burrito and am feeling slightly more reconciled with humanity (although still considering possibility of wrecking massive havoc on UM's admission office)
7. After finishing this entry, decided to go to bed and resume fixing my life tomorrow.
