Oh, Sam absolutely believes that they are cursed. That's another proof that the boy has absolutely no hope left in him. *cries*
Yes, this episode once again showed how drastic the role reversal between the boys is right now. Not that we really needed it drilled in our heads. It's been pretty obvious for a while, but this just cemented it.
Dean dying completely broke Sam. And even though Dean is back, Sam is still broken. And that is the biggest reason why I am unhappy with Dean - he is not paying attention, he is completely oblivious to what Sam is going through. It's not the demon blood that's changing him, it's what he went through, the grief and pain and complete despair of losing his brother. I think Dean believes that especially now that he's back, Sam should be fine and fixed and whatever. But Sam isn't. And I want to smack Dean upside the head and make him realize that his brother needs some major help in becoming whole again.
I know! I just saw the blood and was going, 'oh, no Sammy hang on. Dean, hurry up already, dammit.'
