There are a million things I should be doing right now, but, per usual, my focus wandered away a few hours ago. I started cleaning my room out but didn't get very far because I'm the biggest pack rat and found so many things that I had forgotten about. But, it doesn't make sense to move everything to my new place, so it's time to make piles of things to keep and things to part with. In the "to part with" is a box of newspaper clippings from 97-02 (middle and high school, I think the earlier stuff got thrown out the last time I cleaned my room...) about UConn Women's basketball. Obsessed doesn't even begin to describe it. The joy they brought me is indescribable, it was how I made it through the winters. I read through some of the articles again, the big wins, heartbreaking losses, random stories that me feel like I knew these people...
The season started last night and it's a little strange to think that the seniors on the team were freshmen the last time I was in college... So I went searching for videos of the glory days (aka height of my obsession) 1999-2002. They should have won 5 consecutive championships from the 99-00 to 03-04 seasons, but in 01 (in my mind the best team, but it never gets talked about because they didn't win it all), they lost their two senior all americans to season ending injuries and lost in the final four. Anyways, I found this video that I'm going to put here for safe keeping for when I wish I still had all those articles:

Basically what you should take from this entry is that, unless you want a passionate ramble on and on and on, it's proabaly best to NEVER engage me on the topic of women's basketball. You have been warned... just sayin' ;)
