Budget Impass
I think this is the first time in history that Illinois has been this long without a budget. 700 plus days-though I don’t recall exactly how many off the top of my head. I ❤ how it took the act of congress to overturn the governor’s decision to overturn the governor’s choice to veto the budget as it was-since it wasn’t the way he wanted it to be.
Hoping that there won’t be any further issues. Sean and I were afraid of losing one another ☹ if the budget hadn’t been fixed. We were afraid the massive mess would force us to end up having to be split apart because the one home we share being forced to shut down because of funding being terminated because of how broke Illinois has been for such a very long time.
Now that this mess seems to be fixed, it looks like we’ll be able to enjoy one another more than ever. When all this mess first started it was in 2015. At the time, it was brought to my attention when I was living in Champaign, Illinois. Now, just over 3 years later, I wonder if this is the last of the problems for a long time.
