Today, I’m not blue,
It’s opening day #3-
Home opener take #2.
Will we win?
We’ll see.
The sun’s out today,
What snow has accumulated-
Has melted away.
Winter has dissipated.
Wrigley Land,
Our party band.
Yesterday, we rocked the house-
It wasn’t quiet,
Enough to hear-
A mouse.
I hope we win today,
Since the clouds-
Have gone away.
The game’s on ABC 7,
Hello, baseball Heaven.
A win is in store,
Fans will be busting out,
The door.
I’ll watch the fun,
With my bestie-
Underneath the bright sun.
I have a new shirt,
It won’t grow dirt.
A victory I say,
There’s a price,
To pay.
Payback for Mother Nature’s trick,
Don’t ruin our fun-
Not too quick.
Mother Nature,
No more-
This means war.
I don’t remember a year,
When there were 3 opening days-
A road one,
A home postponed drum-
Then a victory,
In the sun.
