Been Awhile...

Since my last post, that is.

Today is going to be a beauty. Warm, breezy, sunny, just the way a spring day should be. Terry and I are going to our favorite nursery this morning to pick up plantings for the year. Roses for the east lower side yard, some russian sage for the walkway on the west, bleeding hearts to add to the front, and some ferns for under the walnut in the back yard.

We asked my mother and Terry's mother if they wanted to ride along and they both said yes, so we're leaving early to pick them up, get breakfast on the way (It's about an hour trip to the nursery) and just have a fun day together.

By the way, my mother has not had any further fainting spells and the doctors have given her the thumbs up. They think it was just a combination of factors, stress, overworking, and not eating right, that triggered it, so she is being a little more careful in what she attempts to do at one time.

Lastly, terry and I saw a show last week that was truly amazing. It was a group called Barrage. If they ever put on a performance anywhere near you, DON"T miss it. At first glance, they don't sound all that interesting. A group of about a dozen young musicians (mid to late 20s I'd say) violins, percussion, guitar, female vocalist, tin pipe and irish pipe. They hale from all over the globe, Canada, Australia, Finland, US, Ireland, New Zealand, and their music and choreography is pure magic.

They performed music from russian and irish folk songs to the Beatles, from chamber music to lullabies. I've never heard anything like it. Constantly changing pace and mood, the performance lasted an hour and a half, with no intermission and every person in the audience was heartbroken when it came to an end. They received a standing ovation, and that is pretty rare in this audience filled with a mixture of academics and farmers, students and housewives. What a night!
