Procrastination

It's a talent.  Right now, I should be reading my American Lit and finishing my Capstone (almost done!), but instead I'm blogging, lol.

So really, all I want to know is, how is everyone out there?  I feel so disconnected from all of you! ;p

Yay! *applauding* You’re finally done with that capstone paper! I’m sure you did a wonderful job on it and never want to look at it again for as long as you live (that’s how I am when I finish writing a major academic paper or article, lol). Grad school is all about being able to pound out analytical papers on demand, so - if nothing else, the pressure-writing is good practice. Just watch for ulcers, though. lol. Kidding!

Thanks for the well wishes, Erika! My emergency tonsillectomy is scheduled for Friday and I’ve been told the recovery period can be as long as two weeks. Ugh. Looks like I’ll have to re-subscribe to the Ianites Yahoo group to help distract myself from the pain. It’s not on the doctor’s post-operative care sheet, but I’m certain it’s an essential part of any recovery regimen.

I have to begin the pre-operative fasting process (abstaining from certain medications and foods; and eventually all foods and liquids), starting tomorrow, plus write up four lengthy written critiques of each student’s workshop piece that is slated for group discussion this Saturday to make up my participation grade in the course (and have the critiques mailed out by Thursday night). Ugh.

Well, it was great to hear from you. I hope everything else is going well. Let me know how the grad-school application process is going when you get a chance, or if you’ve narrowed down your list of preferred schools to any finalists yet.
