Where I've been

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth; I've just been buried up to my neck in homework.

I've only got about another week to finish my Capstone project.
I've also been applying to graduate schools (I've got 9 applications to fill out...).
I'm studying for the general GRE retake on Nov 3 (I just took the Lit in English GRE last Sat).

I know it’s a real grind but stick with it. Finals will be here sooner than you realize. Yay for getting through your Literature GRE! I looked at that exam once (a sample version of it). It looks like a real bear.

This is an exciting time, applying to grad school. I know it seems like a lot of stress at the moment, but after you’ve been accepted to the college of your choice, you’ll feel like a kid on her first day of kindergarten or grade school - the ultimate rush of starting a brand new adventure! And your future will feel all squeaky-clean fresh and sparkling with a whole new panorama of possibilities (I just woke up so forgive me if I’m making no sense, lol)! But, that’s how grad school makes me feel. Like a 5-year-old kid on her birthday when the future seems almost magical and filled with infinite potential, because I’ve been wanting to do it all my life and finally I’m here. At grad school, you’re not bothered with general education courses or requirements that you have no interest in whatsoever. When you get to grad school, it’s all feel-good English courses all the time (sort of like my wild fantasy of being locked in a library overnight, surrounded by all my favorite books, lol). (The courses are a lot of work, but you’re studying exactly what you want! So, it's worth it!).

Well, take care. I’ve been under a lot of stress lately (and dad is having some health problems), so I’ve been a ghost lately (not able to write as much as I’d like and not online as much as usual). But I’m thinking of you and wishing you the best with your exams! *Hugs* This is so exciting Erika! You Kick a** on your application essays and statements of purpose (and those dreaded GREs)! I know you can do it!

P.S. Great pic of Ian. He has this mischievous little half-smile on his face that’s intoxicating and irresistible. It’s Ian doing his best imitation of Tom Baker from Dr. Who, lol. Just kidding! It’s Ian being as cute as heck. ;-)

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, lol. I haven't been on Livejournal as much as usual lately. Thanks for your inspiring words and great advice. I'm sorry to hear about your father; I hope everything goes well for you and him. Talk to you soon!
