Is it wrong....

... to be totally annoyed with a friend who's doing you a favor???

Ben and I got up at 8 AM to go over to my uncle's house to get the couch. That was the time that the movers would be there, and they could help us. So they did. We had the couch loaded up on top of the Jeep in about five minutes. We were home by 8:45. Our friend Jim was supposed to come help us move it upstairs, and help us take our old one downstairs to the trash bins.

So Ben gives him a call, to let him know that we got back earlier than we had expected (we had told him originally to come over between 9:30-10:00 AM), and his wife, whom we both hate, says that he is tired and he'll be there at 10. She didn't even let him talk to us. So Ben says to her, "Well, it would be better if he could get here sooner, because this couch is just sitting on top of my car."

Well, it's 10:09 AM now, and no sign of Jim. I've been to the Wawa, bought coffee, drank the coffee, ate a bowl of Peanut Butter Puffins, read, and watched Sweet Home Alabama. And still no Jim. I could've moved all the furniture in the apartment back and forth by now. The couch is still sitting on top of the Jeep in the parking lot.

I know that he's doing us a favor and all, but at the same time, it's a little annoying to be sitting around waiting for him to show up when we called and asked him to please come over earlier. If it were me, and I had promised to help out a friend, I'd set my alarm, wake up, do what I said I'd do, come home, and go back to bed. I really didn't want this to turn into an all-morning event. I am tired, and I have errands to run today, including stopping by my dad's apartment since he refuses to get a phone. I don't want to be rearranging all the furniture in the apartment all day long.

But then I feel bitchy because he is doing us a favor... but truthfully, I could have gotten any one of my friends to come and help me. Jim was Ben's pick. I wanted to get Gary to come and help. And he wouldn't have liked it, but he would have come over at the time I had asked him to.

Blah. I'm annoyed.
