sight and smell

This weekend was wonderful! A much needed break, for the most part.

I went and visited the Kyle, courtesy of a dear friend from work and her generosity (she lent me her car.)

I got up there on Friday night after working and then driving all the way out to Calumet Waterworks to meet him- and then promptly turning around and driving back to Hancock. We chilled out  and went to sleep... nothing extraordinary... I ate dinner at some point in there, as I hadn't ate anything since 1:30 that afternoon.

Saturday, we went hiking. We went to Silver Mtn. (which was awesome!!! you can see for MILES!) and then to the Sturgeon River Falls.  I don't know which I liked better: the mountain or the falls... I love mountains, but I have an affinity for waterfalls.  They are so pretty!  I'll post pictures of it soon, I think.  Kyle and I had some... necessary? conversation while out hiking.

I've determined that I worry too much about the future... and that it is indeed better to wait for the right time rather than go with what makes logical sense... now all I need is patience and faith.

We got lunch at the Hilltop, but didn't buy one of the famous cinnamon rolls... mostly because I was stuffed  We drove back to Hancock, took a nap, got dinner supplies and a smoothie, and then picked up
snipershide18's fiancee. We cooked dinner and ate it and it was good. Dan came and met up with us and ate a little bit. He was impressed by my command of the vegetarian cuisine.

I left at 7:30 this morning, only because I had to work. Bummer. I wanted to go see
ultimazero, cause he's awesome like that.  (just in case you didn't know that, Kibbe! You have no idea how much I truly appreciate your friendship!) I almost called in (cause I didn't want to leave), but Kyle convinced me otherwise. Good thing too!  We were seriously short staffed today. LIKE WHOA.  There were 7 or 8 of us at the food den today.

While driving home to Mqt, I popped in a CD I made some time ago... around the time I began to like Kyle. There were some songs on that CD that really hit me... like Ace Troubleshooter's "2:00 Your Time", Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" and Nickel Creek's "Out of the Woods"...  and I started to cry.  It hit me how far apart we will be this summer... how much I will miss his company... how many hours, miles, phone calls, TIME ZONES...
I don't think I like it.
Nope. Not one bit.
(I am excited for him... and I'm ok with him doing this... but it doesn't change the fact that I will miss him.)

Speaking of driving and miles and cars and whatnot...
I went and looked at a car I had in mind: a '98 Hyundai Elantra- $2,900, 85k miles... seems like a good deal, no?
THERE IS NO WAY I would pay that amount of money on that vehicle. The exterior was all kinds of scratched up. No big deal. What got me was the fact that the drivers side windows wouldn't stay up- they were rigged with some sort of strap to hold the driver's window and rear drivers side passenger window up and that same door's lock mechanism was ripped out.
no.
not even.
no.
That car would require a lot of $$ in repairs.

the rest of the cars on that lot had way high miles... much too high for the prices they were charging.

buying a car is turning out to be a much more expensive venture than I had hoped.
:(

anyhoo. it's time for me to study. I have an 8 AM bio exam that I have yet to study for...
