It's been awhile

It's been awhile since I last updated. I'm getting kinda bored of this thing. I always say I'm going to update, then find a million other things to do instead. Let's see, what has happened...

I ended up not going to the Dave concert. I really wish I had gone, so many people said how great it was. Oh well.

Went to Wisconsin with Will for his cousin's wedding. It was a busy weekend, but fun.

Went to Buffalo to look at grad schools. Liked them both, but dont think I want to try to get my teaching certificate in New York. Too many things and requirements. I really liked the University of Buffalo, but I would have to have a degree in English to be able to go into the Education department... that's not going to happen. I could get my certification from Buffalo State, but it wouldnt be Special Ed, so it's not worth it.

Then I got into a car accident. Pretty scary... I was making a left turn to bring the kids to the pool, and some lady decided to change lanes and speed up as I was making my turn and hit me. Best part is she was on the cell phone. I HATE that. I know I'm guilty of driving while on the phone, but I definitely dont speed while I'm doing it, and I put it on speaker phone so I can have the phone in my lap. Whatever... So, while I was freaking out and crying, I called the cops to report it and took the kids out of the car after I made sure we were all ok and it was safe to move them. As soon as I got out of the car (by climbing out of the passenger side, i couldnt open my door), the bitch starts yelling at me telling me I ran the stop sign, and I shouldnt be allowed to put kids in my car. Just what I needed to hear while I was freaking out wondering if my father or my sister was going to kill me first. So I just walked away. Luckily I had Katie in the car who has a big mouth and sees and hears everything because she was the one who saw her change lanes and saw her on the phone. So I got the woman's passenger to admit that the driver was on the phone. Unfortunately, the cop said that he has to see the driver on the phone for it to go in the report. What helped me most was that while I was making my statement to the cop, the lady came back over and started yelling at me again in front of the cop trying to tell the cop I ran the stop sign. So he told her to shut up and go away before she got in trouble. So I got off with no ticket or anything, luckily. In the end, the insurance company told me it will probably end up my fault since I had the stop sign, even though the lady was speeding and changing lanes. So now I just have to wait to see how much my insurance goes up and cry over having to spend money that I dont have. But now I finally have my car back after waiting very patiently for 2 weeks of having to either be driven around or fighting over whose car I was going to drive with my parents. It looks really good. And I had to get 2 new tires yesterday, so it's driving really well. I almost kind of wish my car was totalled (it came very close to it, but they were able to put used parts on it) because since I got it back, all I've seen is the accident. So if I had another car hopefully I wouldnt be seeing all that, but oh well. I love my car. Oh yea, and no one was hurt either. I hit my head pretty hard on the window and had a bump, and I was really sore for a few days, and the kids were sore for only about a day, so it was all good. Oh yea, if I really wanted to, I could try to blame this all on Katie because she was screaming and yelling at me to go home and get her flip-flops because she "cant go to the pool in sneakers." So, if I had refused to go home for her, I would've never had to make that left turn and I would've never been in the accident. But I cant blame this all on a 10 year old, especially not my niece, even though we fight all the time.

I babysat for Connor & Kyle last week while Michelle was in Atlanta for work. They were surprisngly very good for me since they havent seen me in quite a long time and their mother was gone overnight. I had a few problems, though... Tuesday when I went to pick Connor up from camp, he wasnt there. No one told me that on Tuesdays his father picks him up and takes him for a few hours. So I was really nervous about that, not knowing if he tried to take him when he wasnt supposed to hoping to see him while Michelle was gone, and if I was going to get him back before Michelle came home, and all that stuff. The YMCA was going to call Michelle in Atlanta and call the father and make him bring him back, but luckily I got in touch with Michelle and she told me he was supposed to have him. Then on Wednesday, Michelle's car broke down on me (just what I needed, another car problem...) So I had to call a tow truck and deal with all that and was late picking both boys up from camp. I'm just happy that I had my mother in the car with me so that I didnt have to sit on the side of a main road by myself during rush hour traffic. I talked to Michelle yesterday and she said it was the water pump and timing belt.

Kathy, Bobby and the kids come back today from Atlanta. :( Back to watching them tomorrow. But it's my last week!!!! Kerry ended up in the ER down there. Brian hit her in the face with a baseball bat at the baseball game... why am I not surprised that happened. She's going to be ok though... a concussion and a huge bump on her face that will all just take time to heal.

I go back to school on Saturday, woohoo! I'm sooo ready to get out of my house, just not ready for classes to start. I'm pretty much all packed already, too, except for the stuff that I'll need this week... that's how badly I want to get out of this house.

I think that's it... I dont lead a very interesting life. Off to go swim in my sister's new pool & hot tub and relax my back, since it's been bothering me again since Friday after I helped Will move back into school... maybe I should get that checked out, I was told it shouldnt hurt after a week...

Until next time...
