Hope it doesn't come off really braggy, just contemplating the near future
My cafe cartoons are the shit. "Oh my Dad, we're going to CRASH!" I just enjoy doodling them, but people are telling me I should make copies, try getting a few published in the Borders newsletter, or post them online somewhere. Haha. Dunno about that, but they are some funny stuffs.
Even though today was fairly long and boring at work, I must say I love the guys (namely Damon, Will, Joey, and Mark). Also, Jessie (while trying to fix the schedule Karen fucked up... long story), said to me, "This week, since it's all fucked up, you'll have about 24 hours. I know it's low, but seriously... I shouldn't be saying this, but you're the best we have back there, so from now on I'm going to try to give you the most hours." I am so happy she said that... I love her, but she can be a hard ass of a manager. When I covered for Damon when he had to leave because of personal stuff the other night and closed by myself, she told me the next day that it was a "beautiful" close and better than some closes when there are two people. And then her compliment today... it makes me very proud, when someone like her is impressed.
Also, we were talking about how Karen (cafe manager) has been messing up food and paper orders. I had to fill out an order form a few weeks ago because Karen forgot it was the deadline day for it, and was agreeing with Jessie over how weird some of Karen's calculations are (i.e. 8 bags of one kind of pretzel? We barely go through 4 a week...) and she kind of blurted, "You wanna do SPOs from now on?...... Gah, it's the cafe sup's [supervisor's] job to do it. Well, we'll see."
Um, pay raise for Liz? Chaching.
The way things are going, if I actually somehow garner a promotion (can they even do that, I'm only nearly 19?), I may look into NOVA and think about another year of sticking around. I have all these things I'm thinking about doing. I'm not saying, "No college!" or "Northern Virginia for FOREVER!", god no, just options. Puzzling and puzzling.
In other news, because of the schedule being mixed up, 3 DAY WEEKEND FOR LIZ! Don't work again until closing Tuesday! Who wants to take a mini road trip?
...Seriously. Ok, kind of seriously. Friends at work were encouraging me to do some kind of mini vacation type thing, though I have no idea what (and as if I have the money :P). Any ideas for cheap thrills?
