Excellent show tonight

Oct 12, 2006 23:02

So today rocked.  It was very unexpected.  I woke up grouchy, thinking today would suck.  But I should know by now that me and morning just don't get along is all, and waking up crabby means nothing.  I was afraid that I'd stay in a quasi-depressed rut after Gelly and Amanda left (SOOOO glad I saw them both this weekend, and I was really sad after Gelly left, and Amanda coming and going again didn't help either).  So the fact that today happened makes me very grateful.
Reasons today was off da hook:
  • I totally was on the top of my drink-concocting GAME.  I mean, I've still got my kinks in the new cafe, but dude, today I kicked beverage booty.
  • I was in a really great mood from pretty much the get-go, so me and the other baristas had a pretty good time back there.
  • Will has this plan to write a children's book about Ninja Mice.  But whoa, Mark came in today to get his paycheck and presented unto me two stories he wrote while bored in a NOVA class: "The Ninja Mice and The Stolen Cheese" and "Ninja Mice and The Mouse Trap Maze".  He's such a dork, but it's hilarious.  Maybe I'll post 'em sometime, but I don't feel like typing them up now.  Anyway, I'm supposed to do illustrations.  I told Will, and he was angry.  And Joey wants to do illustrations, too.  So we're planning on heisting the story (Mark, the fool, did give it to me after all), and making the book ourselves.  Or something.  I don't know, it's all very sneaky.
  • Mark invited me to some show in Vienna that some friends of his that are in a band were performing at.
I ended up not going to the show.  Mark gave me his number to call him later and get details, which I did, but I figured the only person I'd know there is him, which isn't a huge downside, but a downside none-the-less.  Also, the whole driving there and driving back when I don't really know where it is (he mentioned when he was leaving, so maybe I could've gone with him, but still, if I wanted to leave earlier, yadda yadda yadda....)  I also thought Vienna was a bit far away... of course, it's only really 20 minutes from C-ville.  BUT The Office and Supernatural were on tonight!!  ....Which makes me kind of a loser.  So I suppose in the long run, I should've gone.  So in the long run, it's probable that I am, as previously suspected, an ar-tard.
  • Lunch kind of sucked, cuz I tried to go to C-ville to deposit my babysitting check and Amanda's reimbursment check, but A) BB&T was retarded and the line was closed, and B) the traffic back to Manassas suh-HUCKED, so I was actually almost 30 minutes later than I should've been getting back from my break.  And I know there's a BB&T in Manassas, but I wanted to drive.  Because it was a nice day, I had the top off my car, and I am an ar-tard (a-ha, further proof).  I called to say I was gonna be late, and got a very amusing phone response from Brenda (perhaps more on her later, but I'm feeling kind and won't detail on her right now....) and life moved on.  Besides, since I was in a good mood to begin with, I basically just shrugged it off, and enjoyed the time in the convertible with my iPod.  So there asshat traffic.  "Makes the most of it": see Liz.
  • I like the cafe a lot.  Which is really, really nice.
  • I turned in my time-off request for the beginning of November so I can FINALLY go to New York City!  Spend time with Gelly in NY!!  YAAAAAY!
  • The Office (though Seth came in and babbled through a good deal of it) was pure genius as usual, and Supernatural was a good 'un.... as usual.  Yay good television.
  • Extension to previous bullet: Gells informed me a short time ago that MARK RUFFALO is attending her studio dealie on NOVEMBER 4TH, which I plan on being the second day of my visit.  And she, being the lovely lovely girl she is, said that I could go as her guest.  Meaning: I get to fucking see Mark Ruffalo!!  Which makes A) Gelly my favorite, B) me very excited about New York, and C) my day complete.
  • PAYDAY.  Hooray for significant amounts of money!!!!
  • I feel like I'm forgetting good stuff..... which is actually great if you think about it.
Also, a total sidenote that doesn't REALLY "make my day" or anything but still makes me laugh, is I'm watching a really old Bob Saget "America's Funniest Home Videos", and I never realized how much he really seems to want to kill himself.  He and the chick who played Becky on Full House keep making horrendous, god-awful jokes, and he so obviously will shed blood after the show.  It's great.

And to wrap up, this recent Least I Could Do comic made me laugh out loud, so I felt like sharing:

.....Did you spot the random sock on Rayne's hand?  Good for you.
Points for you on "Liz's Favorite People Scorecard" if you buy me the 3-book collection of LICD comics, now available at LICD.com.  Eh?  Eh??  ....EH???  Oh.

And finally, most importantly: Jay Leno can bite Conan O'Brien's far-superior ass.

P.S. I took me nearly 2 hours to finish this entry.  It's now 12:45 a.m.  I'm rather ADD ridden tonight, I do declare.
P.P.S. Hellen Mirren has a tattoo where I want a tattoo!!!  *Geeks out*  (*Moreso than already geeked*)

Fini.
